This high bandwidth differential PXI fault insertion module is designed to simulate common faults on high speed two wire communication interfaces such as Ethernet. This module supports 4 or 8-channels of two wire serial connections and can be used for simulating faults on Ethernet, AFDX, BroadR-Reach, 100BaseT and 1000BaseT interfaces. Any wire can be set to an open circuit, shorts can be applied across the wire pair, or to the adjacent pair. Fault connections can be made to one of four external signals via two fault buses, typically simulating connections to a supply voltage or ground. Each fault bus is capable of carrying 2A allowing multiple channels to be connected to the same fault condition. Additionally, each fault bus features a changeover relay to allow the user to connect alternative fault conditions to the fault buses.

The DMC-52xx0 makes configuration and programming easy with just a handful of EtherCAT configuration commands and Galil’s intuitive, two-letter programming language. The DMC-52xx0 is offered in 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 axis formats. Coordinated moves can be done within banks of 8 allowing for minimal changes to Galil’s programming language. Galil supports a variety of EtherCAT drives to accommodate most applications. The DMC-52xx0 operates in Cyclic Synchronous Position mode (CSP). In this mode the servo control loop is closed on the EtherCAT drive while the Galil sends motion profile data at a 1 kHz rate. The Gavia Science Bay Module is a generic payload module that allows a Gavia user to add up to six scientific sensors to the Gavia AUV. The module includes several hull penetrations, including four (4) penetrations that can accommodate WetLabs ECO pucks, two external wet plugs that can provide power and serial communication for external devices, one slot for a SeaBird CTD, one penetration that can accommodate an Aanderaa Optode oxygen sensor, as well as a weak link on the bottom of the module. The weak link provides the option of towing an external sensor and reduces stress on the wet plug.
