The CA1782-XXX-XX-BT DWDM High Power DFB Buttterfly Laser component is characterized for use as a CW optical source in CATV and DWDM networks. The CA1782-XXX-XX-BT is dc-coupled with a built-in TEC, thermistor, and monitor photodiode. The device is mounted in a 14-pin, OC-48 pinout compatible butterfly package with the optical isolator mounted on the TEC. The CA1782-XXX-XX-BT incorporates a high efficiency coupling scheme to deliver 40 mW, 50 mW, 63 mW and 100 mW of CW optical power.

ECPR System (Electrically Calibrated Pyroelectric Radiometer)

Developed in conjunction with NIST, the Rs-5900 ECPR is a ±1% absolute accuracy radiometric transfer standard for the visible to near-IR (0.25-2.0µm), with the RsIR Option extending the ±1% accuracy to >20µm. The RsP-590 Pyroelectric Probe requires no cooling and maintains ±1% accuracy from 1 µW to 100 mW. The ECPR uses an auto-nulling, electrical substitution technique that allows the instrument to be referenced against NIST electrical standards, insuring maximum accuracy and precision. Unlike most electrically calibrated radiometers, there is a direct correlation between electrical and optical heating because the same material serves as both the optical absorber and electrical heating element.

Software-Defined Radio (SDR) is an attractive approach for mobile communication architectures in the development and evaluation phase for a rapid prototyping on a flexible platform. SDRs support a wide frequency range. However, for practical use in the field the HF properties are insufficient. The transmit power is limited to a 2-digit mW value. Dedicated filters are required for an effective suppression of out-of-band signals and to improve the noise figure of the receiver chain.
