Incremental Encoders
Versatile, compact and flexible – Incremental encodersIncremental encoders are used when retention of absolute position upon power loss is not required. These encoders provide information about the position, angle and number of revolutions. The number of lines per revolution determines the resolution. The current position can be determined by counting these pulses from a reference point. Upon activating the machine, a reference run to the reference point is required to determine the absolute position of the encoder.

In either case, absolute encoders report a shaft angle within a single 360-degree shaft rotation without stops or gaps. The DMC-40x0 motion controller is Galil's highest performance, stand-alone motion controller. It belongs to Galil's latest generation motion controller family, which accepts encoder inputs up to 22 MHz, provides servo update rates as high as 32 kHz, and processes commands as fast as 40 microseconds-10 times the speed of prior generation controllers. The DMC-40x0 is a full-featured motion controller packaged with optional multi-axis drives in a compact, metal enclosure. Programmable/Direct Reading Attenuators
Is a dual function direct reading and programmable rotary vane type attenuator for use in millimeterwave systems across the standard WR-03 frequency range of 220 to 330 GHz. The attenuator is an ideal piece of equipment in waveguide systems where a broad direct reading of attenuation is required. The default mode of operation is manual direct reading. In manual mode, the attenuation is adjustable with the large knob and the digital LCD screen displays the current attenuation value. The LCD screen is powered by an internal rechargable battery, which is charged via the 2.5mm DC jack by a provided DC to AC adapter. The 2.5mm DC jack also provides power to the stepper motor, encoder and internal microprocessor for the programmable mode function. The user can quickly switch to programmable mode by connecting the powered-up attenuator to a computer with the USB Type B port. In programmable mode, the attenuation is finely adjusted with a precision stepper motor by the internal microprocessor via user-entered serial port commands from the computer.
