This Hardy Shaker provides the ability to set the amplitude and change the frequency range without the amplitude changing. This automation makes conducting a test easier. A test can be conducted on a vibration transducer and manually recorded. Multiple tests are not saved; for multiple tests use the HI-903 or HI-803 units. The HI-913 is used for testing from 7 to 10,000 Hz, it offers adjustable frequency and vibration levels. This provides a reference source for verifying the accuracy of vibration transducers, connectors, cabling and instruments or instrumentation systems. The HI-913 has a ruggedized suspension system that can support heavy transducers (up to 800 grams - see frequency limits in the manual). Full band noise figure and gain test extenders are offered to extend noise and gain measuring capabilities up to higher millimeterwave frequency ranges. These extenders are designed to interface with noise and gain test systems that have an input IF of 10 MHz to 1.6 GHz, such as the industry standard Keysight 8970A/B, N8975A and Maury MT 2075B. The noise figure and gain test extenders include a high-performance, solid-state noise source (STZ series) and a full waveguide down converter (STC series), which consists of a Faraday isolator (STF series), full band mixer (SFB series), frequency multiplier, and IF amplifier. A frequency source with an output signal in the frequency range of 10 to 20 GHz is required as a local oscillator for the down converter. The noise source is automatically powered on and off by the noise figure meter.

A Compact Antenna Test Range (CATR) allows electrically large antennas to be measured at a significantly shorter distance than would be necessary in a traditional far-field test range. Compact ranges use a source antenna (feed) to radiate a spherical wave in the direction of a parabolic reflector, collimating it into a planar wave for aperture illumination of a Device under Test (DUT). It's lowest operational frequency is determined by the size of the reflector, its edge treatment and the absorbers. The two edge treatments available are serrated edge for general purpose applications, and rolled edge to achieve higher accuracy for special applications. Multiple-feed systems may be used to improve the far-field characteristics. A compact range test system also allows system level testing of a complete device architecture.

Manual Tuners / Impedance Tuners
Maury manual tuners are based on precision slide screw technology that utilizes broadband slab line transmission structure and passive probes to create impedances for devices. The probes are designed to be very close to onequarter wavelength in the linear dimension at the mid-band of each range. Since each tuner has two probes, this results in improved matching characteristics for each unit. Another key feature of this series of tuners is the inclusion of a LCD position readout of the carriage position on those units operating below 18 GHz. Higher frequency tuners utilize a micrometer carriage drive. The positional repeatability and high matching range of these tuners make them ideally suited for use as a variable impedance source in applications like device characterization. Such measurements depend upon the ability of the tuner to establish impedances out near the edge of the Smith chart and to reproduce the electrical characteristics as a function of mechanical position. The tuners in this series are also easy to use due to the nearly independent electrical results of the mechanical motions. The depth of penetration of the probe into the transmission line determines the magnitude of the reflection, while the position of the probe along the line determines the phase.
