With single phase AC input, the DC output ripple is very high (50%). With three phase AC input, the DC output ripple is low (5%). Transformer Rectifier Assemblies
Transformer rectifier assemblies are very useful in OEM applications when unregulated DC output is required. Input power can be single-phase or three phases. With single-phase input power, the output ripple is 50%. With three-phase input power, the output ripple is 5%. A 5% output ripple is a clear advantage.
